Here's my first stab at singing about the latest movie I saw in theaters. Read my written review by clicking below. Thanks.
My take on The Crazies:

This remake of the “not so” classic George Romero film is one of the better remakes in recent memory. I would say that it was as enjoyable if not more so than last year’s The Last House on the Left. What really made it work were the roles of the Sheriff, played by Timothy Olyphant, and the Deputy, played by Joe Anderson. Their playful, yet serious banter during the whole ordeal keeps the audience grounded in reality.
What I really liked was how director, Breck Eisner, wasted no time in getting to “the crazies.” Instead of taking the first act to establish character, he put the main characters right into the mix. Eisner decides to develop character as the infection begins which is far more enjoyable for this type of movie.
There were not as many scenes that made you jump out of your seat as I’d like, but there were definitely enough tense and unpredictable scenes surrounding both the crazies and the government trying to catch the last of the “survivors” to keep you more than satisfied.
I’d definitely recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good scare because it succeeds in making you ask the question, “Could this really happen?”
Grade: B+
